What’s cooking between Saif and Bipasha?

IF ONE has watched the episode of Karan Johar’s chat show (Koffe With Karan) with John Abraham and Bipasha Basu, you’ll recall the dusky bong babe playfully admitting that if John wasn’t in her life, the only other Bollywood actor ...

she’d get attracted to would be Saif Ali Khan. However, her then casual statement now seems to have a heavier meaning.

Rumours are rife that Bipasha, who has spent a considerable time with the chote nawab recently while shooting for Abbas-Mustan’s Race in Dubai and South Africa, has actually grown pretty close to the Khan. The duo has reportedly also been seen having cozy dinners together.

Says a source, “During the schedule of Race in Dubai, Bipasha and Saif become good friends and grew very close.”

Says another source, “It was bound to happen. Bipasha has been through a lot in the last few years (rumours of John’s affairs with several co-stars) and so has Saif (split with girlfriend Rosa). Both are lively, intelligent people, so it’s natural that sparks are flying between them. While in Dubai, they would often go out together.”

Nevertheless, when quizzed about Saif, Bipasha ruled out anything besides friendship with the Khan.

Says Bips: 'Saif is a very close friend of mine and I am not going to allow rumours to affect our friendship. I won’t justify my relationship with him because of some gossipmongers. I certainly won’t avoid Saif because of that.”

And ask her about the dinners they were seen having together, and shoots back Bipasha, 'We get along very well. We even go out for dinners together and John knows about it. What’s the big deal? Saif is an easy person to get along with. We a have a similar mindset.'

Then Bips why did you make such a huge deal when an afternoon daily caught John and Vidya on a bike on Bandra Bandstand? Why did you fly off the handle with Vidya?

No matter what she might say, people close to the actors (Saif and Bipasha) feel that there’s something brewing between the two and hope that it develops into something serious as they feel that both Bipasha and Saif have got a raw deal from their respective relationships.

Said a source close to the actors, “Bipasha balances Saif ideally. She is mature, understanding and a good influence on Saif right now. Yes they are meeting but it is too early to jump to any conclusions. And they have to be cautious because Bipasha is seeing John, even though he causes her so much heartache and Saif is a father of two kids.”
Earlier too, Bips had her fair share of controversy. She, as matter of fact, had been going around with Dino Morea (ex boyfriend) while still a couple with Milind Soman. Later she is said to have two-timed Dino with Milind, again. In the earlier days with John she had given him lots of sleepless nights flirting with all her exes. He was new and innocent to Bollywood then and was still struggling while Bipasha was already a star.
