Land woes get bigger for Big B:

New Delhi: It’s a story, which could inspire Bollywood scriptwriters for a potboiler - a superstar with political connections being accused of grabbing land - the moment his political friends find themselves out of power.

He is the biggest superstar that India has ever seen. The angry young man in the 70's, wannabe politician till early 90's and the most lovable senior citizen actor in 2007.

But is he a farmer? Why did Bachchan decide to buy the 2.5 acre land in Barabanki by claiming to be a farmer? A Faizabad court ruled that Bachchan had lied by making this claim. Though that order has now been stayed but the charges against him still remain.

Petitioner Amir Haider says, “By showing that he is a farmer he would get land in Pune. That's why he has done this.”

CNN-IBN has learnt that Bachchan tried to forge land revenue records in Barabanki to prove that he had bought this property in 1983.

His residential address is shown as 17 Clive road, Allahabad. It’s a place the Bachchans left decades back. Why did he not give his Mumbai address?

Amitabh Bachchan's name is entered in record books as Amitabh, son of Harivansh Rai. Why did he not write his full name?

All other entries in this book are of 1983 same ink. It’s only against Amitabh’s name, that the entry is in different ink, how?

To obtain government land one has to fulfill three criteria: should be a permanent resident of the place, should be a landless farmer and should enjoy Scheduled Caste status. Does Bachchan satisfy any of this criterion?

Karter Singh who is a farmer says, “Amitabh Bachchan doesn't own any farm here. He earns in crores, still for a small piece of land our homes are being destroyed.”

The farmers came here in early ' 60s by claiming this land Amitabh Bachchan has not only led these farmers worried but also his image has taken.
